Just Fun
“Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.” 1 Timothy 6:17
I think you need to have some real fun today. You’ve been working hard. You’ve been stressed out. You’ve had too many responsibilities. So let’s have some fun!
Is that even Biblical? Aren’t Christians supposed to be serious, mature, and killjoys?
No. No!
I remember when I read the verse in 1 Timothy where Paul says God “richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.” Do you know what enjoyment means? Technically, it’s the pleasure you feel when having a good time.
I’ll repeat that: Enjoyment is the pleasure you feel when having a good time.
You might need to simply have a good time today. Why not ask God to “richly provide” you with something just for your enjoyment? He will! He really will.
Ask God to provide some enjoyment for you today, and see what happens.
