“For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. Then you will understand what it right and just and fair—every good path.” Proverbs 2:6-10
I actually thought I knew everything when I was teenager. Nobody could tell me anything or give me any advice because I knew better than everyone else what was right and good for me.
Sometimes, I wish I could go back and shake some sense into that foolish girl. I would tell her to find as many godly mentors as she could to teach her how to live her life. I would tell her to read her Bible every single day and record the wisdom there. I would tell her to store up wisdom like jewels.
She would save herself from a lot of pain from foolish decisions.
Store up wisdom. Call out for insight. Look for it as treasure. Ask God to make you wise. Read wise books. Talk to wise people. Write down wise words.
When you store up wisdom inside of you, you know how to act and think in every situation. Nothing will surprise you. You’ll have victory and protection at every turn.
Is there a wise older woman in your family or neighborhood from whom you could learn? In what ways are you storing up wisdom?
