Whatever

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17

This very day, you can praise God. You can worship Him as the Lord your heart has longed for. You can adore Him as the One True God who sets the world free from sin. You can exalt Him as the Genius Creator of violets, woodpeckers, sunsets, ocean waves, pine trees, ants, mountains, and tulips.

You can acknowledge that God controls the entire universe. You can think about His power. You can praise Him for His love and mercy. You can praise Him for being a provider who “daily bears your burdens” (Psalm 68:19). You can give God honor as the King of Kings.

Some people worship God through music. Some people worship God through poems and stories and art. Some people worship God through dancing. Others find ways to praise God as they cook, build, garden, and design. They give thanks as they walk along the road, drive in their cars, or ride in elevators. They thank God and worship Him in all things.

Whatever you’re doing today, think about Jesus. Thank Him as you do that thing.

What would it look like for you to worship and give thanks to God in “whatever you do?”
