Beautiful

“Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear—but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.” 1 Peter 3:3-4

I love Christian music. One of my favorite Christian artists is Bethany Dillon. You might know her from her appearances at the Greystone Sunday night concerts. I just adore her voice and her sweet personality. She sings a song called “Beautiful” that speaks true to the importance of inner-beauty.

In her song she sings, “I want to be beautiful, make you stand in awe, look inside my heart and be amazed.” As Christ’s daughters, we want him to look in our hearts and be amazed and blown away by the goodness, the beauty, and the love we have inside of our hearts.

Our world is consumed with what shoes are “in” and what type of make-up you should be wearing to make you look pretty. I love that at Greystone, we appreciate and celebrate inner beauty. We understand that a girl’s true beauty comes from the inside, from her heart.

My prayer is that we would be so filled with the Lord that we radiate from the inside to the outside, not just during the summer, but all year long. Allow yourself to have that gentle and quiet spirit that is so precious to God. Let Him be amazed by the beauty inside of you.
