“For you formed my inward parts; you wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:13-14
God is a creative God. He knew what He was doing when He created the heavens and the earth. He knew what He was doing when He made the lands and the seas, the plants and the animals, man and woman. His ideas and the ways He went about making all of what we see on earth is just amazing, complex, and so detailed. In His word above, David is praising God for making his body work the way that it does, the inward parts of his body and soul working together so that he can think, feel, understand, eat, sleep, run, etc.
God’s ultimate work is the creation of His children, you and me. What’s even more amazing is that each of us is unique and special in our own way.
Each of us looks, acts, and thinks differently. We each have the capacity to love and be loved, and we can celebrate God’s creation in us, His choice of us, and His love for us because we are His own. Max Lucado’s children’s book, You Are Special, states “You are special because I made you, and I don’t make mistakes.” God didn’t make a mistake in creating the world around us, and He didn’t make a mistake when He thought of and formed you. He loves you no matter what and longs for you to see how special you are because He chose to make the only YOU there is.
Take Away: God made a decision to make you, just like you are. Take a step towards accepting that by celebrating His creation in you, His decision of you, and His love for you.
