Top Ten Verses of Encouragement
“And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14
- “This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5 Life is about finding the light in darkness (just like Dumbledore said!), and we are so blessed that God is ours. He is the lighthouse that will always be there to lead you home.
- “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1 Do not be afraid… Ever. He walks with us through deep waters, fires, tough exams, heartbreak, unkind friends, and any hardships we face. We belong to Him.
- “And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20 As scary as “the end of the world” may seem, it isn’t! God is walking through our lives with us, protecting us, and loving us.
- “God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved.” Psalm 46:5 I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – there is no better encouragement than this. God is working in you to do all things for good.
- “I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.” Isaiah 46:4 As much as we hate to admit it, sometimes we all need rescuing. We have moments of deep weakness where the sole source of our renewal is in God. And He is there to rescue us.
- “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” Romans 12:12 Being patient when the going gets tough is one of our biggest human flaws. It’s easy to be joyful when life is swell. But when we’re handed a tricky card, we have to be patient with what is to come. We pray and we trust that God always, always has something better than our trials.
- “Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 Being courageous is tough, but knowing God is beside us through every step of the way is kind of like wearing Moon Shoes and bouncing with joy! (If you don’t know what Moon Shoes are I am officially old…) But seriously, even if there is a moment when you feel alone – God is ever-present and forever loving you well.
- “If God is for us, then who can be against us?” Romans 8:31 Ah, this just may be my favorite verse of all time. What a reassuring thought that even though we may have Earthly enemies, none of them truly matter. Why? Because our Heavenly father is there for us, supports us, and cheers us on.
- “But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me.” 2 Timothy 4:17 I always think of this verse whenever I give presentations. I think of God standing in the back of the room cheering me on. He stands with us and strengthens us whenever we are scared, excited, lonely, terrified, etc. He is always there.
- “And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14 When you are going through a trying moment, this verse really is #1. It makes you feel like a warrior, like your entire life has prepared you up for this exact moment in your history-in-the-making. Life really can be tough sometimes, but you are fierce, you are amazing, and God created you to persevere!
