“..but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven” Hebrews 1:2-3
I love people. I love knowing people well and being able to describe how great they are to someone else. The reason I can do that, is because we are friends. I have taken time to know them, to talk to them, and to spend time with them so I can come up with descriptions on my own.
In this passage in Hebrews Jesus is being described, which means God is being described as well. In this short passage it tells us seven statements that are descriptive of the superiority of God’s character. It helps us to know God better. It helps us to tell others about God.
This tells us so much about God’s character, His superiority, His Son, and His love for us through His son Jesus. Take some time to read and re-read this passage. Sit and rest in it, think about it and get to know God better. That’s what He wants. He wants us to know Him so well that we can’t help but speak from our heart when we tell other people about Him.
