All for His Glory

“Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! ‘For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?’ ‘Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?’ For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” Romans 11:33-36

Y’all I don’t know about you but when I read that passage it just gives me hope. ALL FOR HIS GLORY.

God owns heaven and earth. He has never been lonely, He has no lack of glory or direction, He has never experienced what it is like to be in need, and He is full of wisdom - He knows it all and what to do with it. He is good. That means every good thing I have ever experienced is from God.

So when we decide we know better, or we are full of wisdom, or we don’t need God, or our direction is better than His; we are saying we are better than God who created EVERYTHING and knows EVERYTHING about the whole universe past, present and future.

That fact suddenly makes me feel silly for trying to be in control. Verse 35 says it, we literally have nothing to offer God, we have never and could never give Him anything that would put Him in our debt. God is a good dad that loves to give good gifts to His children, but not because we did anything to deserve it.

God is not a means to our end. HE IS THE END. Everything that exists was created by Him and for Him and to Him and will go back to Him. God does everything to bring himself glory. God saves people for his glory. ALL FOR HIS GLORY.
