“He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.” Psalm 91:15
The recent tornadoes in Oklahoma have left me speechless. I watch the news and cannot fathom that type of devastation. In a matter of minutes the people of Moore lost everything. They lost their homes, their cars, their places of employment, their valuables, and in many cases, their loved ones.
Although most of us have never experienced that level of hardship, we have all struggled at some point. How do we get through difficult experiences? What do we do to cope? How do we accomplish what Paul tells us to do in I Thessalonians? “We are to grieve but not like those that have no hope.”
When we are really struggling or dealing with a difficult situation, where is our hope? OUR HOPE IS IN THE LORD! Check out the hope and peace offered in the words of Psalm 91.
“Rest in the Shadow of the Almighty” “He is my refuge and my fortress” “Surely He will save you” “He will cover you” “Under His wings you will find refuge” “You will not fear” “He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways” “They will lift you up in their hands” “Because he loves me says the Lord, “I will rescue him” “I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name” “I will answer him” “I will be with him in trouble” “I will deliver him and honor him”
Psalm 91 is a timeless, endless, life giving well that you can turn to again and again. He offers comfort that is unexplainable and a peace that passes all understanding.
The Lord is faithful. His promises are forever. And that alone is enough to give me HOPE!
