“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” 2 Corinthians 3:17
“Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:39
Each night at tuck-ins, I would ask each girl, “What was a moment where you saw or felt Jesus most?” Some girls immediately got awkward and had no clue what to say. Some dazed at me with confused eyes. Others girls had that ‘light bulb moment’ and knew the exact moment I was talking about. We have many encounters with Jesus each day, but I was asking my sweet friends for the moment when they felt Jesus’ presence the most that day - a moment that stood out among the rest.
I will never forget some of the amazing answers God filled my ears with. One camper told me that she went and sat by a lonely camper in bible study class that day. Another camper sat in silence and felt God in the swaying of the leaves in the wind. Yet another camper told me that the moment she felt Jesus the most was when she was zip lining. She said, “Cody, I just felt…FREE.” She felt the freedom of Christ that day.
Each day Jesus sends us little moments that remind us that He is near. We just have to have eyes, ears, and hearts open to receive those moments.
