“Be strong in the faith, just as you were taught, and always be thankful.” Colossians 2:7
One of my favorite ways to pray is to make a gratitude list for my day. A gratitude list is a simple list of things for which you’re thankful. The items on your list can be big or small.
I find particular enjoyment in celebrating the simple joys of each day: the way the sun outlines the clouds on a drive home from work. The taste of a ripe mango or big bowl of fruit on a hot day. The feel of my favorite cozy blanket when it’s cold outside.
What are some things that you can thank God for today?
Practice: Commit to making a gratitude list every day for a month. Write down at least five things for which you are thankful and ask God to open your eyes to all the blessings He bestows on You. You will be amazed at how, when you focus on it, joy in the little things becomes an exciting way of life. There is beauty all around!
Always be joyful. Pray continually, and give thanks whatever happens. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17
