“In my distress I cried to the Lord and He heard me.” Psalm 120:1
Have you ever felt like your prayers or cries out to God have gone completely unanswered? Like you have prayed with your whole heart for something but God has - somehow - not heard?
As it says in Psalm 120, Verse 1, God is listening.
Sometimes, God allows things to happen the way they do in order to teach us certain lessons or to prepare us to help someone else who will experience the same thing. Sometimes, it may seem like God is not listening to our prayers and cries for help because He actually intends for us to wait a while before He steps in and intervenes. This can be both frustrating and confusing, but God has a perfect plan. In the words of Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
Rest assured that God is listening. Pray consistently and trust. In His timing, all will become clear. God is purposeful and deliberate. Rest in the fact that His plan is far better than any we could dream up ourselves.
Prayer: God, hear me when I cry for help. Help me trust that You are listening to my pleas and that I am just where I need to be at this time. Help me believe that I am held in Your hands and that You have a perfect plan for my life.
