“So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Several years ago, a friend’s preschooler went through the most fun phase. Every time someone would enter a room or conversation, he would greet the person with a big smile and say, “I’m so glad you’re here!”
His words were so sweet, but oh so convicting. How often do I give off this vibe? When people are around me, do they often feel wanted and appreciated? Are my words as encouraging as those of this young boy? Do my actions make those around me feel loved, valued, and appreciated?
Chick-fil- A Founder, Truett Cathy, once said, “You know the best way to tell if someone needs encouragement? If they are breathing!”
Take time today to encourage those around you. Write a note, give a hug, tell someone how much they are appreciated, and just let him or her know that you are so thankful to be in the same place. Your world is filled with people that need to hear, “I’m so glad you’re here!”
