God's Love Is Greater

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” Psalm 107:1

When you love someone, how do you display it? What are some ways that other people show you they love you? If you could pick one, what do you think is the best way to show love? What are some ways in which God shows His love? How do you know that God loves you? Is it possible to know?

We read of His love, and He speaks to us in many ways: through the loving gestures and kindness of others, through an understanding that comes to your mind, through seemingly unexplainable peace and confidence, and even through a sunset. His love can almost be tasted.

There have been times when I felt doubts over a situation and prayed for them to leave, and they did! I believe God demonstrates His love to us through answered prayers as well. A few years ago I was a volunteer guide for a tour and was stationed at my post, awaiting the crowd that would soon be stopping by my place next. As they began to head my way, I could feel the fear and nervousness of speaking before a crowd welling up heavy within my chest. At that moment I called out to God in silent prayer that He would help me overcome those fears and speak clearly, and He did, all glory to God! In that moment, I felt more than ever like one of His beloved children.

Psalm 107:8-9 says, “Let them (the redeemed) give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.”

Verse 1 says, “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”

What does this mean? Nothing can keep his love from reaching you! Romans 8:31-39 gives us great detail about the endurance of God’s love. What this means for you is that no one can ever love you like God does. His love, in its unfailingness, does not change.
