Are You Homesick?
“They desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.” Hebrews 11:16
Does your heart ache for something better? Even when times are good, do you ever feel like there just must be more?
That twinge of sadness that our hearts feel has been built into us. It reminds us that there IS something more. . . a better place that our hearts long for. Our soul knows that this world can’t offer us anything that will fully satisfy.
When we feel that ache, its best for us to lean into it, to name it, and to tell God how we’re feeling. One day he will make everything better.
All the pain and heartache, injustice and wrongdoing will be gone FOREVER. When Jesus arrives to make all things new, we will go to our true home. . . the place where we won’t question whether we’re loved, where our bodies will be fully restored and free from all pain, where we will not cry one tear.
Here we will know and worship God in full. He who promises these things is faithful!
