“Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened unto you.” Matthew 7:7
What an amazing promise this is! God does not tell us, “Ask and maybe you shall receive,” or “Knock and the door might be opened unto you.” He says, “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened unto you.”
How many times do we wonder what we should do in a certain situation without first asking God about what we should do? Or asking God to provide? Or how often do we stress about a situation without praying –and fully trusting- that God would open doors for us in His time?
It’s the popular thing today to try to figure things out on our own; to try to make things happen out of our own volition and efforts. But God waits for us everyday to simply ask for Him to provide. He desires to bless us profusely, should we just turn to Him and trust in His plan and provision.
Practice: Is there something that is keeping you from trusting in God’s power to provide? What is making you feel like you have to have it all figured out by yourself? What would you like to ask God for today? What doors would you like to have God open for you?
Make a list that starts with, “God, please provide,” and then lay out all the requests of your heart. Spend a few moments committing your list to God everyday and then wait. God will provide just the solution He knows you need in due time.
