Those Who Were in Darkness

“For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true)” Ephesians 5:8-9

When I was younger I used to sleep with a night light. Every night my mom would kiss me goodnight and I would immediately turn on my blue lava lamp on my bedside table. I was scared of not being able to see anything. However, it is not that I am not able to see anything it is the lack of light that isn’t able to reflect my surroundings.

Before Jesus comes into our hearts we are in darkness. Not literal darkness:lack of physical light but, we aren’t able to see the path that God has for us. Just like if I didn’t turn my lava lamp on at night. I wouldn’t be able to see my surroundings and I would feel alone.

However, because Jesus loved us and died for us He brought light into the world so people could see the good, true, right, and beautiful path of following Him.

When we see Jesus and accept Him to come into our lives and shine light on everything, we are no longer in the darkness. We no longer have to be scared of the dark and of being alone. Jesus is always with us and He is always protecting us.

Be encouraged that you have this light to share and to tell others so they can come out of the darkness. You are never alone.
