What To Do With Worry

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians 4:6

I’m no stranger to worrying. In fact, worrying is quite easy for me to do!

I can be going about my day like normal when all of a sudden, worry creeps in and takes ahold of my mind. Can you relate?

Maybe you worry about family, grades or the future. Maybe you worry about a decision you have to make, or a relationship with a friend… These worries can leave us feeling scattered, stressed out and even scared of the future!

But thankfully, the Bible tells us what to do with our worries.

Philippians 4:6 says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”

God wants us to turn to him when worry creeps in! When worry starts to work its way into our minds, we can make the choice to stop and pray. It doesn’t have to be anything formal or lengthy – God simply wants us to talk to Him.

If you aren’t sure where to start, try praying a prayer similar to this…

“Heavenly Father, right now I am worried. I don’t know how this will turn out, and I find myself fearing the worst. Please give me your peace and comfort, and help me to trust in You. I release this worry to You, Father. I love You. Amen.”

God promises us that when we give Him our worry and fear, He’ll replace it with His peace.

“Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:7

God’s peace is an incredible promise that is bigger and stronger than any worries we may have. Let’s turn to Him with our worries this week!
