“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
How refreshing: God has things figured out and He will direct our paths. All of us know what it feels like to be confused, hurt, frustrated, sad, let down, lonely, disappointed, and sometimes plain mad.
The beautiful thing about Christianity is that God Himself understands these emotions – He bore them on the cross – and He therefore can relate intimately to us when we are going through hard times.
Even more beautiful is that God has a plan to deliver us from these hard times. He says, “In all your ways acknowledge (Me), and (I) shall direct your paths.” He will give us the direction and resources we need for our individual paths, should we simply acknowledge Him and invite Him into the process with an open heart.
It’s easy in our world today to think that we have to understand things and have them all figured out. But God says, “Bring your concerns to me, and I will help you along your way.”
Prayer: God, help me trust in Your will. Help me recognize that sometimes, things happen in this life that I have no control over and that can be very hard to understand. Help me lean into You during these times, and help me to trust in Your good and perfect plan. Let me be cognizant of what You have blessed me with; let me draw near to You in my lack of understanding; and please direct my path and provide the resources I need to do Your will, in Your time. Grant me an increase in trust. Amen.
